Architect Lola Ibrahim-Oje (M.N.I.A) was born November 13th in Gusau, Zamfara State, Northern Nigeria. She spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Kaduna, Kano, Birnin-Kebbi, Gusau, Sokoto & Minna.
She attended Zarumai Primary School Minna, 1985. Federal Government College Minna, 1991 and finally graduated from Federal University of Technology Minna in 1999; M-Tech Architecture.

She speaks English, Hausa, Nupe, Yoruba fluently and is currently learning mandarin at the Chinese Cultural Centre, Abuja.Lola is witty, smart and eloquent. An innovative professional whose outstanding expertise cuts across agriculture and social entrepreneurship, environmental services, construction, gender advocacy and she counsels on sexual and gender based violence in schools & marginalized communities.

As a FGM survivor, she is a strong critic of the practice and was invited as a speaker & presenter by Global Women Peace Foundation at their annual walk to end FGM/Cutting in Oct 2018, held in Washington DC. She spent three months in the United States of America attending workshops, seminars and meetings with a focus on gender related issues.

Under her capable leadership as Co-Chair, WWNF was one of the final three nominees in the category; FIRS award of excellence in Non-profit service to humanity at the maiden edition of the MSME award organised by the office of the Vice President of Nigeria.

Lola is a registered Architect, a recipient of the Netherlands Fellowship Program and one of eight Nigerian women, selected as recipients of the Cochran Fellowship USA for Women in Agriculture 2017. She was nominated by The United States Embassy to be part of the Nigerian Delegation to IFT 17 Food Expo, held in Las Vegas, Nevada USA June 23 – 28, 2017; She was invited by SMEDAN to attend the 14th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) October 2017 in China. She was also invited by UNDP to a National Fair & Exhibition to have an overview of the activities and national impacts of Global Environment Facility – Small Grants Program in Nigeria. She was nominated to attend International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) in USA for 2018.

Known as a Social Entrepreneur, Lola is the Founder/President: Fosbys Cooperative Society Limited, Ex-Publicity Secretary: Waste Management Society of Nigeria, FCT Council, Co-Founder/Public Relations Officer: Greenfield Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Founder/Co-Chair; Wonderful Women Network Foundation. She is a Chief Architect at the Department of Public Building, Federal Capital Development Authority, Abuja.. She is a Member; Nigerian Institute of Architects, Member; Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, Member; Neca’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women, Member; Recyclers Association of Nigeria, Lola is also a member of NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York and participates passionately in their activities.

Married and blessed with children. She has visited Benin, Togo, Belgium, Cote D’Ivoire, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States of America, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. Lola likes farming, networking and travelling. You can catch her reading, playing table tennis or at the cinema in her spare time.
